Infosys, Formula E Unveil AI-Powered Race Centre

Dated: March 23, 2026

Infosys and Formula E have launched a new AI-powered Race Centre designed to transform how fans experience race weekends through immersive, real-time digital engagement. Powered by Infosys Topaz, the platform puts fans at the center of the action by combining intelligent data, AI-driven insights, and interactive storytelling to create a more engaging and accessible race-day experience.

Now in its second year as Formula E’s Official Digital Innovation Partner, Infosys is expanding its role from delivering data-led insights to creating deeper fan interaction. The Race Centre serves as a unified digital platform featuring AI commentary, gamified fan tools, explainer videos, weather updates, race control alerts, PIT BOOST and ATTACK MODE tracking, and synchronized storytelling. By blending live race feeds with AI-powered content, the platform helps fans better understand the sport and stay connected even outside the racing season.

Among the platform’s standout capabilities is a Generative AI Commentary Engine that delivers real-time, context-aware race narration. Fans can also take part in interactive features such as podium predictions during practice and qualifying sessions, as well as voting for the ‘PIF Driver of the Race.’ Additional tools like PIT BOOST tracking and the Selected Driver Event Tracker allow users to follow key race moments, charging stops, overtakes, and ATTACK MODE deployment in a clearer and more engaging way.

The Race Centre is also powered by agentic AI systems that process and integrate more than 1.5 million data points per race, including race control updates. This enables the platform to present race positions, car movements, and live developments through a 2D racetrack visualization, making complex race data easier for fans to follow in real time.

By bringing race data, AI-powered analysis, and rich digital content together in one place, the Race Centre supports fans across the full race lifecycle—from practice sessions and qualifying to race day and beyond. The platform also aligns with Formula E’s growth strategy by appealing to younger, digitally native audiences, strengthening global fan loyalty, and showcasing how technology can enhance storytelling and deepen engagement in modern motorsport.

Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds said the initiative reflects the championship’s vision of leading the future of sustainable motorsport through innovation. He noted that the Race Centre gives fans clearer insights, more interactive experiences, and closer access to the stories unfolding on and off the track, while laying the groundwork for a smarter and more connected future in electric racing.

Infosys Global Chief Marketing Officer Sumit Virmani described Formula E as a powerful platform to demonstrate AI’s potential in sports. He said the new Race Centre, powered by Infosys Topaz, is redefining race-day engagement through responsible AI, intelligent commentary, richer explainers, and seamless digital experiences that extend beyond the traditional broadcast window for millions of fans worldwide.

Formula E remains the world’s first all-electric FIA World Championship and the only sport certified net zero carbon since its inception. It continues to position itself as a global platform for sustainable motorsport and electric vehicle innovation, bringing racing to iconic cities while supporting broader environmental progress.

ABB, the title partner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, is a global technology leader in electrification and automation. With more than 140 years of history and over 110,000 employees worldwide, the company focuses on helping industries become more efficient, productive, and sustainable.

Infosys, meanwhile, is a global leader in next-generation digital services and consulting, with over 330,000 employees and operations across 63 countries. With decades of experience in enterprise transformation, the company continues to help organizations adopt AI, cloud, and agile digital solutions while emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and inclusive growth.
