Digital Edge Secures $665M Green Loan for Indonesia AI Data Center

Dated: March 23, 2026

Digital Edge’s CGK Campus is a major part of its regional expansion strategy, with a planned total investment of US$4.5 billion across multiple phases. Located in the GIIC Industrial Estate, the project is set to become one of Indonesia’s largest hyperscale data centers, supporting the country’s rising demand for stronger digital infrastructure and cloud services. Designed for next-generation technologies, the campus will offer resilient capacity for artificial intelligence and other data-intensive workloads, helping businesses across the region expand innovation and scale their digital operations.

The project also represents a significant step forward in sustainable digital infrastructure. The US$665 million financing is the largest green loan ever secured for a data center in Indonesia and has been structured under Digital Edge’s Green Financing Framework. This funding supports the company’s broader target of achieving carbon neutrality by 2030, while reinforcing its role as a leader in environmentally responsible infrastructure development.

To reduce its environmental impact, the CGK Campus is being developed with strong sustainability features. It is targeting a market-leading annualized Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.25 and is pursuing LEED certification. The facility will also make use of advanced recycled water systems and plans to integrate renewable energy sources, both of which are expected to lower resource consumption and reduce the carbon intensity of operations.

The successful closing of the green loan was backed by a consortium of major financial institutions, including BNP Paribas, DBS, Mizuho, OCBC, and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk, acting as Mandated Lead Arrangers. Additional support came from institutions such as Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, and PT Bank Central Asia Tbk as Green Facility Coordinators, reflecting strong market confidence in the project’s commercial potential and sustainability goals. This collaboration also aligns with Indonesia’s wider ambitions for a low-carbon and sustainable economic future.

Jonathan Walbridge, Chief Financial Officer of Digital Edge, described the financing as an important milestone for the company’s mission to deliver high-performance, AI-ready infrastructure while advancing environmental solutions. Overall, the US$665 million green loan is a major achievement that will help build critical digital infrastructure in Indonesia, meet growing demand for AI and hyperscale computing, and set a new benchmark for combining technological progress with sustainability.
