MYOB and Microsoft have announced a five-year strategic partnership to jointly fund, build, and scale AI innovation across MYOB’s business management solutions, aiming to transform how Australia and New Zealand’s 3.28 million small and mid-sized businesses use next-generation AI technology. The collaboration combines MYOB’s deep understanding of SME needs with Microsoft’s cloud and AI capabilities to embed practical AI tools into daily workflows, helping business owners reduce manual work, gain actionable insights, and make informed decisions.
Microsoft will provide dedicated engineering support to co-design and build AI-powered solutions, accelerating feature development from months to weeks. Leveraging Microsoft Foundry, Copilot Studio, and Agent 365, MYOB will deploy secure, customer-facing AI agents at scale, while maintaining governance and compliance. Initial applications include AI teammates for MYOB employees that summarize cases, triage queues, and draft responses, as well as intelligent agents for SME customers that forecast cash flow, guide compliance, and provide proactive insights. Mid-market customers will benefit from AI features in the Acumatica platform, delivering contextual financial insights, natural language queries, and automated document processing.
To support adoption, MYOB will establish an AI Academy with Microsoft to build AI skills, confidence, and responsible governance across technology, engineering, and customer teams. This extends the AI Everyday program, enabling all teams to harness AI for productivity, insights, and enhanced customer experiences. The partnership also allows MYOB to implement a multi-modal AI strategy, selecting the best solutions for evolving business challenges while ensuring enterprise-grade security and governance.
The initiative is designed to lift productivity for SMEs, strengthen economic growth, and turn AI into practical, everyday impact. The first jointly developed AI features and customer-facing experiences, branded “Powered by Microsoft,” are expected to roll out later in 2026, marking a significant step in scaling AI-driven innovation for businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
