San Francisco, June 2026 – Generative AI company Anthropic has announced a record‑breaking $65 billion Series H funding round, more than doubling its post‑money valuation to $965 billion. The raise propels Anthropic ahead of rival OpenAI, which earlier this year closed a $110 billion round at an $840 billion valuation.
The latest financing was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with co‑lead participation from Capital Group, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, GIC, Iconiq Capital, and XN. The round also included $15 billion in previously committed investments from hyperscalers, notably $5 billion from Amazon, which also participated in OpenAI’s most recent raise.
Anthropic’s meteoric growth comes just three months after its $30 billion Series G, which valued the company at $380 billion. Since its 2021 inception, Anthropic has now raised nearly $144 billion, according to Crunchbase data.
The company reports its enterprise customer base has expanded significantly, with run‑rate revenue crossing $47 billion earlier this month. CFO Krishna Rao emphasized the importance of the funding: “Claude is increasingly indispensable to our growing global community of customers… This funding will help us serve the historic demand we are experiencing, stay at the research frontier, and bring Claude to more of the places where work happens.”
With this latest round, Anthropic cements its position as the most highly valued generative AI startup, underscoring the immense investor confidence in AI infrastructure and enterprise adoption worldwide.
