Casablanca, June 2026 – Morocco has taken another decisive step in its digital transformation journey by signing a memorandum of understanding with Orange Maroc to accelerate the testing and deployment of artificial intelligence solutions. The agreement, signed on June 4 by Minister Delegate Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni and Orange Maroc CEO Hendrik Kasteel, places AI at the center of Morocco’s national development agenda.
The partnership will focus on practical AI applications across e-government, e-health, e-education, and e-agriculture, sectors identified as critical to improving citizens’ lives and boosting national competitiveness. Pilot projects have already been identified and will be jointly developed in the coming months, with Orange Maroc contributing infrastructure and technical expertise to ensure successful implementation.
This cooperation aligns with Morocco’s broader ambitions under the “Morocco Digital 2030” strategy and the “AI Made in Morocco” roadmap, both of which position artificial intelligence as a pillar of economic growth and public sector modernization. Policymakers see AI as a tool to enhance productivity, improve service delivery, and strengthen resilience across industries.
Authorities project that AI will contribute 100 billion dirhams (approximately $11 billion) to Morocco’s GDP by 2030, while creating 50,000 specialized jobs and supporting the training of 200,000 graduates in AI-related skills. The partnership with Orange Maroc is expected to accelerate the transition from strategy to implementation, leveraging private-sector innovation to achieve national goals.
By embedding AI into public services and strategic sectors, Morocco aims to ensure that digital transformation is inclusive, impactful, and sustainable. The collaboration with Orange Maroc marks a significant milestone in turning Morocco’s AI vision into reality.
