$200M Snowflake-OpenAI Partnership Powers AI Agents on Enterprise Data

Dated: February 6, 2026

Snowflake and OpenAI have announced a multi-year, $200 million partnership designed to integrate OpenAI’s frontier intelligence directly into Snowflake’s platform. This collaboration enables enterprise customers to leverage advanced AI models like GPT‑5.2 through Snowflake Cortex AI and Snowflake Intelligence, allowing them to build AI agents, generate insights, and analyze their data more efficiently. The integration is aimed at making AI a natural extension of enterprise data management without requiring users to write code.

Through this partnership, Snowflake customers can deploy AI applications grounded in their own enterprise data. Snowflake Cortex AI allows teams to call OpenAI models directly from SQL, enabling analysis of structured data, text, images, and audio. Snowflake Intelligence provides natural-language querying, giving employees actionable insights and supporting automated decision-making while maintaining robust security and governance standards.

Both companies emphasize that this partnership enhances enterprise AI adoption across industries, including healthcare, finance, retail, media, manufacturing, and the public sector. By combining Snowflake’s secure, governed data platform with OpenAI’s advanced models, organizations can accelerate the development of AI agents and applications that are reliable, responsible, and scalable.

Executives from Snowflake and OpenAI highlighted the importance of integrating AI directly into trusted enterprise systems. Sridhar Ramaswamy, CEO of Snowflake, noted that the collaboration enables organizations to unlock the full potential of their data with secure, governed AI capabilities. Fidji Simo, CEO of Applications at OpenAI, added that the integration makes it easier for businesses to deploy AI agents and bridge the gap between AI capabilities and tangible business value.

Early adopters such as Canva and WHOOP have already reported benefits from the integration, citing improved data activation, faster decision-making, and the ability to innovate quickly while maintaining security and performance standards. Looking ahead, Snowflake and OpenAI plan to expand features through OpenAI Apps SDK, AgentKit, and APIs to support shared enterprise workflows, with Snowflake continuing to leverage ChatGPT Enterprise for internal decision-making and collaboration.

The partnership further extends OpenAI’s presence with major global enterprises, including Walmart, PayPal, Accenture, Intuit, and Morgan Stanley. Together, Snowflake and OpenAI aim to set a new standard for AI innovation in enterprise environments, offering scalable, secure, and practical AI solutions to organizations worldwide.
