The foundation of Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and his wife, Lori, has made a major philanthropic move by donating computing time valued at $108.3 million to universities and nonprofit institutes. The donation, facilitated through CoreWeave, will provide access to advanced computing resources for science and artificial intelligence research.
According to the filing, the donated resources are intended to accelerate breakthroughs in AI and scientific discovery by giving academic and nonprofit researchers access to high-performance computing power that would otherwise be prohibitively expensive. Nvidia also plans to complement this donation with free engineering support, ensuring that institutions can fully leverage the technology for their projects.
This initiative highlights the growing importance of compute infrastructure in advancing AI research and scientific innovation. By making these resources widely available, the Huang Foundation is helping democratize access to cutting-edge technology, enabling universities and nonprofits to pursue ambitious projects that could have significant global impact.
