Nearly half of teachers now use AI at least monthly, yet fewer than one in ten schools provide formal guidance on its use. To address this gap, Google.org is supporting a new initiative by the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) to develop evidence-based, data-driven guidance for teachers and school leaders on effectively using generative AI in education.
The guidance will be delivered through an interactive, open-source tool informed by rigorous evaluations of new teaching approaches. Insights will be shared through EEF’s networks, including the Research Schools Network in England and the global Education for Evidence Network.
Supported by a $2.4 million grant from Google.org, this three-year project aims to help educators use AI in ways that improve learning outcomes and advance equitable, effective teaching worldwide.
